The Field Application Engineer
will be a vital member of the MAXIMO solar innovation business, responsible for the deployment, support, and field optimization of our MAXIMO robot and managing the operational aspects of the robot in the field. This role combines technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a production-oriented mindset.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated, passionate about their work, and eager to push the boundaries of what is currently achievable in the field. This mission-driven individual will work closely with our construction manager and engineering and product development teams to ensure the successful deployment and operation of our robotic systems in the field. You will be the key technical relay on the field to help the Engineering team identify, troubleshoot, and debug any on-field issues and will collaborate closely with other team members to ensure the deployed solar site and modules are as per the requirements of the customer.
As a Field Application Engineer in the MAXIMO business, this position will work collaboratively across MAXIMO, including engineering, business leadership, and construction management, providing feedback, issue lists, installation reports, and brainstorming solutions to be implemented on sites to improve production goals. : Monitor its performance, ensuring smooth operation and uptime and report any anomalies promptly and track them.
: Collaborate closely with other team members, including developers, engineers, and construction managers. Assist in debugging any on-field issues. Provide feedback and installation reports.
: Ensure that deployed solar sites and modules meet customer requirements. Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
: Push the boundaries of what is currently achievable in the field. Brainstorm solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Monitor the performance of the robots and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation. Implement software and hardware updates as needed.
Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and customer interactions. Provide regular reports to management on system performance and field issues.
Support the development of MAXIMO operations plans based on project requirements and established schedules.
Work collaboratively across MAXIMO, engaging with engineering, business leadership, and construction management teams. Provide insights, compile issues list, and contribute to site improvements.

: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, or robotics) and a first experience as Field Application Engineer or similar role.
Practical experience in field operations, preferably in solar energy or robotics. Experience with programming and configuring robotic systems.
Familiarity with Linux-based systems for robot control and monitoring.
Familiarity with control algorithms, motion planning, and sensor integration.
Capability to work dynamically and collaboratively across multiple teams in a fast-paced and technical business environment with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills. Results-oriented, “can-do” attitude, and “get things done” mentality; comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity; no compromise on attention to quality and details. Passion for sustainability and clean energy solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot issues with machinery and make quick decisions on field.

: Willingness to travel frequently to various solar farm locations. 80+%: English required

: Remote position with 90% on construction sites.
