Pacifica Steel LP is an established leader in the supply of high grade steel to the energy sector and heavy civil industries. We are looking to add a temporary Inventory Clerk to our fantastic team to help with inventory accounting and accuracy. The contract term is 6 months, with the potential for a permanent position.
- Provide support to the accounting team with a focus on day-to-day tasks
- Process vendor and customer invoices and credit memos through inventory
- Support the cycle count and annual stock take process, ensuring variance reduction
- Assist with following up on outstanding balances when required
- Month end reconciliations
- Transaction audits
- Travelling to various yards to count our products as required
- Support the Controller with various inventory reports
- Create vendor purchase orders
- Keep systems and physical inventory counts updated throughout multiple locations
- Perform inventory transfers and work orders in Quickbooks and other systems
- Collaborate with supply planning and sales teams to optimize days-on-hand inventory (set min and max)
- Sales support; providing product details and documents to Sales Reps as requested.
- Maintaining and documenting product details including heat numbers, quantities, back ordered items, etc.
- Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and dead stock; execute strategies to minimize write-offs
- Other related duties as assigned
In order to be considered for this position, you must have the following:
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in inventory management
- Experience and knowledge of accounts payable, inventory modules and maintaining general ledgers
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
- Experience and knowledge of Quickbooks. Experience with Eniteo a definite plus
- Experience in the steel industry is a bonus
- Experience and proficiency of MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
- Have a vehicle and be willing to occasionally travel to our local yards
- Systematic bookkeeping skills, strong attention to detail
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team player committed to business growth

- Excellent time management and priority setting skills
- Occasional overtime required during audits
- Up to 10% travel to other facilities may be necessary
