Unit Electric is a busy manufacturing facility located in Okanagan Falls, BC. We are seeking a CNC Press Brake Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Lead Hand, this role involves working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and adherence to quality standards are essential.
This position is part of the United Steel Workers bargaining unit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
Unit Electric designs and manufactures standard and custom electrical power, distribution and control equipment for mining, renewable energy, oil & gas, commercial, industrial and transportation.

- Set up programs and operate the CNC press brake machine to produce parts according to specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and dies for each job.
- Perform quality checks using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure accuracy.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain precision and minimize material waste.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area, following all safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and report any equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, and move goods safely and efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in CNC operation preferred.
- Red Seal Sheet Metal worker/Fabricator
- Technical college or vocational training in metalworking is an asset.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating CNC press brake machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to bending, angles, and tolerances.
- Familiarity with CNC programming interfaces and machine controls.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments and quality control tools.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
