Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Processing & Metallurgy, the Principal Metallurgist will support the development and audit of metallurgical reconciliation systems, metallurgical test programs, site laboratory QA/QC, and preparation of technical reports for the company’s exploration and mining projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure metallurgical reporting requirements across the company’s projects are maintained to meet or exceed required expectations.
- Participate in and support metallurgical test programs necessary to enhance the project growth.
- Oversee site-specific analytical laboratory policies and procedures to maintain high operating standards through QA/QC review.
- Work with site metallurgical, process, and engineering groups to aid in production planning, data analysis, reconciliation, and other duties as necessary.- 10+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing.
- Experience at open-pit and underground mines.
- Strong software skills, including data analysis.
- Self-motivated with track record of successfully working independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Experience with QA/QC systems and protocols.
- Willing and able to travel internationally as required (>30% of time).
- Full proficiency in English.
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
- Meets NI 43-101 requirements for Qualified Person status, including current registration or eligibility to register with an approved professional association (e.g., Engineers and Geoscientists of BC).
- Post-secondary degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mineral Process Engineering.
The salary range for this position is from $173,100.00 to $207,700.00.
