Job Description - Student Intern, Automation Engineer
Tucson Electric Power, one of Arizona’s leading utility companies, seeks an individual for the position of Student Intern, Automation Engineering. We are looking for an energetic addition to our team to assist Engineers with existing projects and studies. This person should have a strong interest in the area of Engineering.
This position requires in-office work at our Tucson, Arizona location.
Position-Related Responsibilities•Assist with creating, designing and documenting projects as needed
•Assist with developing, preparing and reviewing reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions
•Assist with gathering and reviewing data to help determine the cause of a system disturbance
•Assist with system studies and validating models
Requirements
•Pursuing a degree in an Engineering field with a graduation date of May 2027 or later
•Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during regular business hours; up to 40 hours a week during the summer and school breaks as needed
•Have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to protect highly sensitive and confidential information; must be able to meet regular deadlines
•Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
•Possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
•Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
•Student Interns must maintain the required hours for full-time student status, good academic standing at their college or university, as defined by the college or university and the GPA required for graduation by their college or university.
•Failure to maintain full-time status, good academic standing and/or the requisite GPA will result in ineligibility for participation in this program.
•Student Interns are employed on a temporary basis and are generally not eligible for some benefits; including holiday pay.
•Scheduling of work hours and assignments will take into consideration that Student Interns are students first and employees second.
Pay Rate:
Salary determined based on candidates experience and qualifications.
