Summary
As a Finance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting financial operations that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence for the organization.
Interns will work alongside experienced professionals in areas such as:
- Finance and Business Operations (FBO): Drive financial performance for critical business areas across the organization such as Transmission & Distribution, Generation, Information Technology, and more. Assist in budget and forecast variance analysis, customer savings opportunities, and help identify potential efficiencies towards improved processes.
- Treasury Operations: Support cash flow analysis, investment tracking, and debt management activities.
Interns may also participate in cross-functional projects, including sustainability reporting, rate case modeling, and economic impact studies. Assignments are designed to develop core competencies in financial analysis, data interpretation, and business communication.
This paid temporary full-time internship spans 10 weeks during the summer. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, opportunities for site visits, networking, and more.
Minimum Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.
- 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Involvement with campus finance clubs or organizations.
- Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.
- Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
- Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
- Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.
- Performs other related duties as required.
