Heavy-Duty Mechanic – AEQ – Prudhoe BayJOB SUMMARY
The Heavy-Duty Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and non-mobile equipment, including but not limited to: Rough-terrain Cranes, Vac-Trucks, Fuel-Trucks, Vac-Trailers, Tractor-Trailers, Lowboy-Trailers, Winch Tractors, Super-Suckers, Scissor-lifts, Telescopic Boom Lifts, Telehandlers, Skid-steers, Front-End Loaders, Dozers, Excavators, Forklifts, Motor Graders, Ford pick-up trucks, air compressors, engines, heaters, light plants, and generators.
Inspect heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and mechanical issues.
Repair and maintain heavy-duty vehicles and non-mobile equipment, including but not limited to: Rough-terrain Cranes, Vac-Trucks, Fuel-Trucks, Vac-Trailers, Tractor-Trailers, Lowboy-Trailers, Winch Tractors, Super-Suckers, Scissor-lifts, Telescopic Boom Lifts, Telehandlers, Skid-steers, Front-End Loaders, Dozers, Excavators, Forklifts, Motor Graders, Ford pick-up trucks, air compressors, engines, heaters, light plants, and generators.
Perform system repairs and replacements, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, centrifugal pumps, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment components using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric tools.
Conduct routine maintenance, including lube, oil, and filter changes in accordance with maintenance schedules.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair DEF and after-treatment systems.
Operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic assessments and post-repair testing.
Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and the general work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies and replacement parts.
Adapt work hours based on project needs and location demands.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
A valid (U.S issued) Driver’s License is required.
A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 3x3 rotation is required.
At least five (5) years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic is required.
Proficient experience with diagnostic software programs Prosis, Volvo Tech Tool, Cat ET, and/or Cummins Insite is required.
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, particularly in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
