The AK Projects Coating Tech Crew Lead is a working supervisory position. They oversee crews preparing and applying polyurea/polyurethane coatings (steel, concrete, containment systems, tanks, bed liners, infrastructure). The successful individual will possess the experience to personally accomplish the work as well as instruct, lead, and direct field personnel in the execution of work. Ensures that all work is performed in a safe, productive, and compliant manner. The Crew Lead must possess strong organizational and technical experience to effectively determine project resource requirements, task durations, and accurately document results and details.

•Lead, direct, and supervise coating/sandblasting crews in remote, extreme-North Slope field settings
•Coordinate mobilization/demobilization of crews and equipment in remote areas.
•Oversee and direct crews preparing and applying polyurea/polyurethane coatings (steel, concrete, containment systems, tanks, bed liners, infrastructure)
•Ensure proper surface preparation (cleaning, sandblasting, HEPA vacuum blasting), critical steps before coating application

•Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
+ Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.

+ Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
+ Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
+ Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
+ Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
+ Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
+ Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Proven ability to lead and supervise crews, ensuring high productivity and quality standards in challenging environments.
•Strong planning and job coordination skills, including crew mobilization, equipment logistics, and task sequencing.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with project managers, safety teams, and client representatives
•In-depth understanding of industrial coating systems, including polyurea, polyurethane, epoxy, and other specialty coatings.
•Comprehensive knowledge of surface preparation techniques, such as abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuum systems.
•Familiarity with SSPC/NACE standards and application specifications for industrial environments.
•Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, NSTC, HAZCOM) in remote and hazardous job sites.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
•Must be 18 years of age or older
•Minimum 2 years of crew leadership or foreman-level experience in a field-based industrial environment.
•Extensive experience in poly-based coatings (polyurea, polyurethane) and surface prep.
•Strong understanding of and adherence to OSHA safety protocols and hazard communication standards
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience on the North Slope or similar oil & gas project sites.
•Certification in industrial coatings from SSPC (e.g., C1, C2) or NACE Coating Inspector Program (Level 1 or 2).
•Current OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. •MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
•LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
•HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
•VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
•RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
