We are seeking a Licensed Water Well Driller, Apprentice Water Well Driller or a Geotechnical/Environmental Driller with a valid Class 3 license to join our team in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with drilling, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and efficiency on the job site.
- Operate and maintain a range of drilling equipment, including water well drilling equipment or auger rig equipment.
- Perform drilling operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct in situation tests and install monitoring wells, vibrating wires, slope inclinometer casings, and other instrumentation.
- Conduct site assessments and ensure proper equipment setup
- Lead and collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines and guidelines are met
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily drilling records, including footage, consumables, and site conditions.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on drilling and ancillary equipment (trucks, pumps, generators, etc)
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
- Collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers to meet project objectives.
- Accurately complete necessary documentation and reports
- Minimum of 2 years of water well drilling experience and/or geotechnical/environmental drilling experience
- Valid Class 3 license with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Strong knowledge of various geotechnical drilling techniques (e.g SPT sampling, hollow-stem, solid-stem, direct push)
- Knowledge of well construction, site preparation, and drill rig operation
- Commitment to safety and environmental protection
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Certification in First Aid and H2S considered an asset
