This position is responsible for ensuring that integrity programs and processes are in place to ensure the safety and reliability of Greenfire facilities and pipelines. This role works closely with the company designated Chief Inspector, Operations and Maintenance teams, Technical Services, and other stakeholders to ensure that programs and processes align with regulatory requirements and company expectations, that inspections are planned and executed, and that results are reviewed and actioned.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide leadership and direction to establish and manage GROC integrity management systems.
2. Manage all aspects of the Facility Integrity and Pipeline Integrity Programs, including: program manual management and maintenance, program implementation and execution, training, internal and external audit support, continuous improvement
3. Develop and support the execution of fit for purpose integrity inspection strategies and intervals for both facility and pipeline
4. Proactively identify integrity inspections requirements and assist Operations and Maintenance staff with the long term planning
5. Lead or support all the pressure equipment, pressure piping, and pipeline failure investigations and root cause analysis
6. In conjunction with the Chief Inspector, develop and approve pressure equipment repair and alteration procedures, approve and assist in non-conformance resolution
7. Conduct in-service pressure equipment inspections and other inspections
8. Coordinate review and approval of inspection procedures and inspection reports
9. Support communication between GROC and regulatory agencies as required, including audit support
10. Develop and implement integrity KPIs
11. Support the development and implementation of an integrity data management strategy
12. Regularly visit site to build and maintain relationships with the Operations and Maintenance Teams, as well as to conduct and monitor inspections
13. Complete integrity and engineering assessments as required
- Assist the project/engineering groups as required with QA/QC Quality Plan development, and technical code interpretation. Act as the Owners Inspectors as required.
- Assist as required with developing the project (engineering and procurement) and construction quality assurance programs for the major capital projects
- Support the MOC process (review proposals and participate in hazard analysis as required)
- Support the risk management process, and ensure that Integrity risks are identified and communicated
- Foster a collaborative culture of safety, accountability, and performance excellence.
1. Champion and steward the development of an Integrity focused mindset at Greenfire
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologist from an accredited institution
- Eligibility for membership in the APEGA or ASET if applicable
- Alberta Certified Boiler & Pressure Equipment Inspector
- API 510 Pressure Equipment Inspector
- API 570 Pressure Piping Inspector
- 10+ years relevant experience- API 571 Damage Mechanisms
- NACE Basic Corrosion
- National Board Commissioned Inspector
- Extensive knowledge of the Alberta regulatory requirements related to pressure equipment and pipeline integrity
- Extensive knowledge of the pressure equipment codes and standards, and CSA Z662
- Familiarity with integrity challenges of the SAGD environment
- Previous experience managing integrity programs
- Previous experience with other Owners organizations in similar role
- Root Cause Analysis experience
- Creative and willing to explore innovative fit for purpose solutions
- Strong collaborator with the ability to build relationships and work closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communicator
- Adaptable and flexible
- Organized with solid planning skills
