Reporting to the Operation Manager/Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all fabricated products meet established quality standards before they leave the shop. This includes interpreting drawings, inspecting welds and finishes, verifying material specifications, and coordinating third-party inspections when required. You will also track the status of products through each stage of the job and support accurate documentation for final quality reports. - Maintain excellent attendance record
- Ensure manufactured products meet a pre-determined quality standard
- Search and review drawings electronically as needed for verification
- Interpret part and fabrication drawings for quality checks
- Accurately measure and verify material thickness
- Visually inspect all finished products for quality and size of weld, tagging/marking, finish e.g. prime, paint, powder coat, galvanize, etc.
- Coordination of third-party weld inspection as required
- Organize and track product drawings and status throughout the duration of job and hand over of finished package to QC Data Entry for completion of quality report in a timely manner
- Report quality problems or concerns to management in a timely fashion

- Previous experience in a steel fabrication environment (Preferred but not required)
- CWB Level 1 or 2 Inspector certification (Preferred but not required)
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures and practices
- Basic knowledge of welding process and quality of welds e.g. undercut, lack of fusion, porosity, cold lap and spatter
- Must have good communication, time management and organizational skills
- Possess problem solving skills
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. and be on feet for long periods
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to speak and understand English clearly
- Active participation in company safety program
- Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $28 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role.
