Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a growing oil & gas facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement, and construction management expertise, is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill one role as an
Intermediate Process Engineer (8+ years of experience) - Contractor role.
Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management.
Responsibilities
•Performing Process simulations using different software (incl. Aspen HYSYS and Flare System Analyzer) and in-house spreadsheets
•Proficient in gas processing, PSV Sizing, line sizing and flare systems analysis
•Performing sizing calculations on typical equipment and pipeline/piping flow
•Writing process DBMs and reports - essentially independent of supervisor; comfortably communicating on technical and process matters
•Preparing process datasheets for process equipment and instrumentation for RFQs
•Keeping well informed of all codes and standards and having a good understanding of API, ASME standards, PHA techniques, Alberta directives and company standards
•Possessing the ability to design small projects virtually independently from a Senior Process Engineer; understanding how to represent Acero to the client; meeting and beating project timelines and cost estimates
•Developing PFDs, P&IDs and navigating isometrics and plot plans with full understanding of all the components on the drawings
•Working on problems in which analysis of situations and /or data requires an in-depth evaluation of numerous factors
•Other tasks/responsibilities, as required
Qualifications
•Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering and registered as a professional engineer in the province of Alberta (APEGA). Preferably, EGBC as well.
•Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in oil and gas facility experience, EPCM experience required
•Previous fabrication shop experience would be beneficial
•Field experience and ability to work independently in the field (as occasionally required) would be beneficial
•Strong ability to work independently
•Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
•Ability and willingness to work under pressure and tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
•Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
