As the Pipeline Engineer, you will provide engineering oversight for the design of pipelines and associated facilities while supporting safe and effective construction execution for capital projects. The role ensures that project work is delivered in compliance with regulatory requirements, applicable industry codes, and client standards, while collaborating closely with internal teams, external engineering firms, contractors, and regulators throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Ensure all pipelines and associated facilities are designed in accordance with applicable regulations, industry codes, and client standards.
- Support scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, and forecasting for engineering design work, and provide reporting to the Pipeline Engineering Supervisor and Project Manager.
- Provide technical guidance during design reviews with external engineering firms and internal stakeholders.
- Work with the Procurement and Supply Chain team to source materials and engage engineering service providers.
- Provide technical assistance during construction activities and assist with on-site commissioning.
- Support regulatory applications by preparing preliminary layout drawings, technical project descriptions, and other required documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) with APEGA.
- Minimum of six years of pipeline industry experience, including pipeline routing, design, and working with geotechnical and hydrotechnical hazards.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including CSA Z662, DOT CFR 192, DOT CFR 195, ASME B31, and NACE, as well as materials standards such as CSA, ASME, and API.
- Experience with trenchless design, feasibility analysis, pipeline stress analysis software, and CEPA surface loading calculations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, subject to motor vehicle record verification prior to hire.Please note: Successful applicants will be employees of Raise, working at Enbridge facilities with both Enbridge and contract employees.
