Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a Manager, Mineral Land based out of our Calgary, AB office. The successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Tundra’s hybrid work schedule (in-office Tuesday – Thursday).
As Manager, Mineral Land, you will lead the Mineral Land Negotiator team and oversee commercial negotiations and agreements with third parties, government agencies, and mineral owners. This role plays a key part in shaping land strategy, supporting corporate objectives, and identifying acquisition and divestiture opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

- Direct and supervise the Mineral Land Negotiator team in Calgary
- Influence organizational direction beyond specific land objectives
- Liaise with other managers and the Executive Leadership Team on mineral land matters
- Develop procedures and priorities to maximize asset value
- Lead commercial functions including negotiations, analysis, research, and issue resolution
- Manage internal land consultants and external brokers, including capital spend planning
- Coordinate land-related activity requiring provincial regulatory approval
- Support government policy work in mineral land, joint venture, and carbon management
- Partner with the Business Development Team to identify and evaluate A&D opportunities
- Prepare presentations and coordinate technical and business analysis for strategic land transactions
- Provide monthly progress reports on team deliverables
- Develop key relationships with industry counterparts, stakeholders, and government personnel
- Maintain an active presence in professional associations such as CALEP
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land Management, Business, Public Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas land management
- Prior supervisory experience and a strong understanding of land asset management principles
- Superior freehold land knowledge and experience negotiating land agreements
- Proven leadership and relationship-building skills
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinker with a track record of identifying and securing value-add opportunities
- Active industry engagement and familiarity with regulatory frameworks in Saskatchewan and Manitoba
