About This Job
The Survey Assistant is accountable for performing field survey work on a variety of oil & gas and construction projects. There will be a need for regular travel to and from sites across Alberta, with a focus on the Fort McMurray area . Owning a vehicle is not a necessity, but if you are required to travel on your own, you will be reimbursed for these expenses. GeoTrek also offers subsistence pay if hotel stays are required. Stays in camp are fully paid for and meals are provided.
General Responsibilities
•Performs various survey duties under the direction of the Party Chief, including working with GPS, total stations, utility locates, staking, and more.
•Communicates effectively with the party chief as well as client representatives and members of the public when required.
•Performs all assignments safely and performs health and safety duties as identified in the company's HSE program.
•Cleans and maintains survey equipment, tools & vehicles.
•Interprets plans / maps with respect to survey assignment.
Qualifications
•ENTRY LEVEL POSITION - Related experience preferred but not essential.
•Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Valid safety certificates are an asset (First Aid/CPR, CSTS, UTV Ridership, WHMIS, TDG, H2S, Bear Awareness, Faller certification). Experience working in remote locations is an asset Experience working in all conditions and climates and asset.
