Job Description

We are looking for laborer team members at our Red Deer County (Blindman) location!

The successful candidate will be working in the yard and shop, assisting with maintaining the yard, cutting down end of life plastics for recycling using a reciprocating saw and other hand tools, washing/pressure testing/labelling IBC's (industrial bulk containers), assisting with vac truck operations. They will also assist in pallet jacking, loading and unloading freight.

WE ARE HIRING FOR OUR WEEKEND SHIFT - FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY 6 AM - 6 PM. 36 Hours over 3 days, plus a top-up to 40 hours if all 3 shifts are worked in their entirety.

The job duties will vary, sometimes even day-to-day. They include running plastic shredder equipment, cutting and breaking down industrial bulk containers, loading and unloading materials; using different tools and machines, such as driving forklifts; and manning power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.

Responsibilities

- Recycling Plastics and Metals

- Washing IBC's

- Pressure Testing containers

- Peeling stickers or re-labelling containers to TDG standards

- Cutting down plastic containers

- Some specialized tasks may require on-the job training

- Effectively using light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment

- Moving items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor

Qualifications & Experience

- Reliable transportation (we are located outside of the city in Red Deer County, the successful candidate will have their own transportation)

- Strong work ethic

- Hand tool experience

- Safety mindset

Salary: $17.00 – CA$19.00 per hour
