This position is based on site at the NWR Sturgeon Refinery working a 9/80 schedule.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Warehouse Lead, the Inventory Analyst is responsible for effective development of ongoing related business processes, execution of inventory management business control processes related to the inventory analysis function and ensures the reliability of the inventory management processes. The Inventory Analyst will focus on all aspects of inventory movement, including development of item master documents, setting minimum/maximum levels, reorder points, re-stocking and accounting for all items in the warehouse to perform the following activities below.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and tracks inventory, identifies inventory items for purchase and reorder; reports on dormant stock and obsolete items with the intent of determining potential reallocation to Asset Investment Recovery;
- Performs Item Catalog set up and enters Items in appropriate BOM/SPL
- Develops and analyzes inventory KPI’s, facilitates inventory cycle counts, where-used analysis and stock-out reporting;
- Reviews/generates reports within the CMMS (Maximo) and determines appropriate action;
- Liaises with business unit teams and 3rd parties to ensure demand and new parts requests are satisfied;
- Coordinates with small projects & MOC business unit teams on surplus material and new part requirements;
- Takes ownership for system forecasts based on historical demand or new requirements;
- Liaises with Supply Chain Management to ensure inventory contracts in place to support the inventory management program;
- Manages Inventory levels by maintaining service levels, while preventing the purchase of non-productive inventory and stewarding to the spare parts inventory budget;
- Liaises with the warehouse staff and buyers to order and receive inventory items in the most effective manner;
- Assists in material and inventory forecasting by liaising across business units;
- Establishes policies and procedures for inventory management; Monitors status of repairable inventory items;
- Act as Team Lead during absence of Warehouse Lead;
- All other duties as assigned.
- Understands, creates and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others; adheres to NWR’s Core Competencies to drive results and a high performing culture;
- Minimum Grade 12 education is required with a preference for a relevant two year post-secondary degree or diploma;
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse and operations inventory control management experience in the oil and gas or other heavy industry;
- Experience with materials handling aspect of Project Management & Execution organization is an asset;
- Team player, willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share and seek information and guidance;
- Understanding of Warehousing & Materials Management best practices; inventory control and analysis procedures and practices;
- Competency with inventory and purchasing processes within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – with preference of the Maximo system; will act as inventory system (Maximo) focal point and liaison;
- Previous database development, master data control and system integrity experience;
- Understanding of Transportation of Dangerous (TDG) requirements;
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and facilitation skills;
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff and management;
- Ability to map MRM/SCM business process/business process modeling;
- Competence in desktop computing tools – all current Microsoft office applications;
- Effective communications both in verbal and written format to establish clear goals and manage desired outcomes;
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to train end users;
- Well-developed meeting management skills and ability to act in leadership positions for smart teams;
- Ability to manage task assignments in a matrix organization and the ability to work to and meet deadlines and schedules.
