Harvest Operations is currently recruiting for multiple Foreman positions, reporting to the Superintendent. The Foreman is responsible for operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and team leadership within a complex steam and power environment. This is a full-time permanent position located at the BlackGold SAGD Facility near Conklin, AB. The successful candidate(s) will reside in a camp facility on a rotational basis.

Our ideal candidate(s) will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Possess a valid 1st or 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency. Preference will be given to those holding a 1st class certification.
- Minimum 10 years of industrial facility operations and 5 years supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in SAGD or other oil & gas facility operations (commissioning/start-up experience is considered an asset).
- Current H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG certifications.
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License (or equivalent).
- Completion of Leadership for Supervising Safety Excellence and Supervisor OHS training
- A Degree or Diploma in a related program such as Power, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering is an asset.
- Experience with budget and cost management is an asset.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency with personal computers, software applications, and facility control systems.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Power Engineers through direct supervision of four Shift Leads (i.e. Shift Engineers).
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to fill the role of Chief Power Engineer on a permanent basis.
- Ensure all pressure equipment is compliant with the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation.
- Management of the pressure relief devices’ car seal program.
- Maintain compliance with required safety certification and regulatory requirements, such as ABSA, AER, and OH&S.
This position is a “fly-in, fly-out” (FIFO) position. BlackGold is serviced by flight hubs in Calgary and Edmonton, as well as bus transportation to site.
This position is classified as safety sensitive. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and a physical demands assessment.
This role requires a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record in compliance with our company standards. A driver’s abstract will be required as part of the pre-employment background checks for the selected candidate.
