Summary
Reporting to the IT Business Enablement Director, the
Finance & Project Systems Managerwill manage a team of SAP specialists that support the main SAP modules Finance, Controlling and Project Systems. In this role, you will manage the team efforts in each of these modules in SAP, manage queues/work assignment, manage integration points with other SAP modules (MM, CS, SD, PM, PP, CATS) and represent the Finance & Project Systems modules within the corporation.
The ideal candidate will be able to drive analysis and manage resources in designing, developing and delivering changes, prioritization/assignment of incidents and act as a liaison between functional and technical/development/project groups. With the small team size, worldwide scope and dynamic nature of the work, the successful candidate will need to be flexible and prepared to manage the team through both small and large initiatives.
The desired individual has strong financial business acumen and is an excellent communicator, capable of explaining the technical elements and managing team efforts with both internal and external stakeholders to bring projects to completion efficiently and effectively. To be successful, this role will need to build strong relationships with key finance stakeholders at all levels of the corporation and have a desire to understand our business.
This role is based in our Southeast Calgary office and supports Enerflex businesses across Canada, the USA, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia, and South-East Asia.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide management, leadership and represent IT in the SAP Finance/Controlling/Projects IT functional and configuration areas.
- Provide leadership and resource management in SAP system support. Provide guidance ensuring daily operations are running smoothly, which includes managing troubleshooting, issue resolution, prioritization and resource assignments.
- Manage configuration and daily support of SAP FICO and PS modules.
- Provide guidance in analysis and efforts in designing, developing and delivering changes.
- Visualize and optimize SAP FICO and PS functionality.
- Lead collaboration within the team in support of SAP systems and the business users in all Enerflex regions.
- Lead the demonstration of SAP FICO PS system-based audit controls to internal and external auditors. This includes review of existing SAP FICO PS controls and creation of any new controls required due to enhancements.
- Build strong relationships with key finance stakeholders across multiple business units and at all levels.
- Promote technology standards, policies, support processes and a vision of the best functioning of the FICO and PS modules.
- Work with the business teams to ensure issues are clearly understood, alternative options are explored, and the various business stakeholders understand proposed solutions.
- Manage and plan the testing of new IT solutions with the business as required to ensure a well-delivered solution. This includes working with Subject Matter Experts and IT to develop and execute test scripts as part of project test phases and that align with business requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, Accounting or Finance or other combination of Education and relevant experience.
- Previous IT Managerial experience in SAP FICO and PS.
- 10+ years of SAP configuration experience in the Finance & Controlling module. - 5+ years of SAP experience in Project Systems module.- Demonstrated experience collaborating with external auditors on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) compliance reviews and assessments.
- Accounting, Controlling, Project Management, Reporting and Cost Controls business acumen required.
- Experience with both SAP ECC 6 and SAP S/4HANA required.
- Strong integration knowledge of other SAP modules required (MM, CS, SD, PM, PP).
- Experience with manufacturing business, COPA and results analysis exposure is an advantage.
- Familiarity with SAP Concur is preferred.
- Previous demonstration of excellent analytical skills in evaluating business requirements, issues, complex challenges, prioritization/assignment of work and determining appropriate business solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, time management and organization skills are essential.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable facilitating small to large teams in working sessions.
- Experience in working with individuals of all levels in the organization.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasional travel will be required.
