FIELD SERVICES TECHNICIAN

Caribou Electric is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving in the field, and delivering exceptional customer service.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Testing, rebuilding, and repairing electric motors, generators, controllers, and related equipment.

- Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, including emergency repairs.

- Delivering professional and reliable customer service to both internal and external clients.

- Traveling to customer sites, including occasional overnight stays, to complete service work.

- Performing work safely and accurately, while maintaining proper documentation of service activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

- Minimum 2 years of AC and DC motor and generator repair experience.

- Millwright or Journeyman Electrician certification (Apprentices are welcome to apply).

- Ability to read, write, and communicate in a professional manner.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and reaching.

- Intermediate or higher-level computer skills (service reporting, work orders, email).

Preferred:

- Rewind experience.

- Familiarity with electrical components and diagnostic procedures.

- Experience in both field and industrial environments.

Working Conditions

- Combination of shop-based and field service work.

- Travel required for customer service calls.

- Exposure to industrial environments (noise, dust, rotating equipment).

- Overtime or on-call availability may be required during peak periods or emergencies.
