Apex is a privately-owned company providing rental equipment, service, and support to the energy industry. We are currently seeking a full-time Field Sales Representative for our Grande Prairie branch who will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service, dealing with customer concerns, and marketing the benefits of Apex equipment and service.
The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for selling and marketing our fleet of drilling equipment rentals. Our ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of oilfield equipment and its application to the drilling process, excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, and a desire to establish strong customer relationships. Core hours of work will be Monday through Friday, with the ability to be on call and work overtime as needed.
- Promoting the Apex brand by maintaining relationships with existing customers and working to discover new prospects and develop new accounts
- Assisting in the development and evolution of all customer contracts, rental agreements, and job quote packages
- Completing sales reports, obtaining, and creating market analysis reports, documenting opportunities and potential revenues
- Following up on leads and missed opportunities; understanding and researching market/ industry competitiveness
- Determining customer requirements, increasing equipment utilization, and lowering DTB rates.
- Contributing to the development of the Apex marketing plan and working in conjunction with the sales team and manager(s) to establish strategies and measurement tactics to track measurable progress
- Working in liaison with and providing support to the operations team as required; building relationships within the team and other divisions
- Spending adequate time on-site to ensure objectives are being met
- Acting as a point of contact and effectively handling customers’ individual needs, concerns and requests; relaying critical information accordingly
- Actively participating in regularly scheduled sales calls, meetings, and initiatives
- Supporting in other areas and assuming additional responsibilities as needed
- Previous sales experience, preferably with oilfield service equipment
- Industry experience, mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of equipment and its application to the drilling process is an asset
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to generate revenue, maintain and grow current accounts and secure new accounts
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate openly with a professional demeanor, exercise good judgment, be proactive and adaptable
- Ability to be an effective team player, work collaboratively, and foster a positive company culture
