Oil and Gas Production Operator

Gran Tierra Energy has an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled full time contract operator in the Gilby operating area. Working on a high paced, high energy work team, the primary responsibility of the successful person will be to effectively participate as a team member by providing safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance for our wells, gathering systems, and process facilities. The successful candidate will work an 8 on 6 off shift and must be willing to work extra hours and be on-call as required.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines and processing facilities and report any deficiencies or operational issues to the production supervisor

- Daily production reporting utilizing Prodman

- Keep all wells and facilities in a safe, clean, and compliant condition and report all deficiencies to the production supervisor

- Complete minor maintenance activities: pump repairs, packing changes, orifice plate inspections, well/facility inspections, and other assorted tasks in an operator’s scope

- Consistently meet and strive to exceed GTE's expectations including Health & Safety Training; community relations; environment; regulatory; company policy; corporate values; and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

- Ensure that all scheduled maintenance is completed on time

Qualifications

- Willing to train the Right Applicant

- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

- Possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in an unsupervised work environment

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Strong computer skills (proficient in MS Office Suite)

- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license - drivers abstract is required

· Experience with pumping oilwells, water injection facilities, oil treaters and associated equipment would be an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $66.50-$69.50 per hour
