We are seeking a Confined Space Attendant & Firewatch to join our team for upcoming shutdowns in the Canadian oil and gas sector. This safety-critical role involves monitoring confined space activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and serving as firewatch to prevent and respond to fire hazards. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining a safe and secure work environment during high-risk shutdown activities.
- Confined Space Monitoring: Control and monitor confined space entry/exit, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
- Firewatch Duties: Maintain vigilance in hot work areas, respond to potential fire hazards, and alert emergency services if required.
- Emergency Response: Support rescue operations in confined spaces, prioritizing the safety of all personnel.
- Communication: Provide clear, continuous updates to workers and supervisors on risks and safety concerns.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain safety and emergency equipment to ensure readiness.
- Documentation: Complete accurate safety logs, incident reports, and compliance records.
- Valid certifications: Fall Arrest, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CPR, Confined Space Entry, and Rescue.
- Demonstrated experience in confined space monitoring and firewatch duties (oil and gas experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and emergency protocols.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting equipment and supporting rescues.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and safety reporting.
