About Us

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician to join our finance team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is an on-site role and requires regular in-office presence. The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations and gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, month-end close, and IFRS compliance within a dynamic corporate environment.

Job Summary

The Accounting Technician supports the accounting function by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and contributing to the month-end and year-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, adjustments)

· Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close

· Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve variances

· Maintain supporting schedules (fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals)

· Support preparation of reports and financial statements in accordance with IFRS

· Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

· Support internal and external audits (prepare working papers and documentation)

· Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

· Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations

Qualifications

· Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

· 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience

· Strong knowledge of IFRS and Canadian accounting practices

· Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite)

· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)

Preferred Qualifications

· Enrollment in or progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset

· Experience in a mid-to-large corporate environment

· Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes

· Exposure to multi-entity accounting
