About The Role
As an Account Manager – Stakeholder Relations, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with municipal governments, industry organizations, local communities, and internal stakeholders across ATCO Energy System, which includes ATCO Gas & Pipelines and ATCO Electric utilities. You will help ensure ATCO's voice is represented in policy discussions, regulatory developments, and community forums. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will foster internal alignment, monitor external initiatives, and represent ATCO in stakeholder discussions and committee work.
What You Get to Do:
- Represent ATCO Energy Systems in key meetings, forums, and advocacy opportunities
- Monitor policies, regulatory changes, and market trends impacting utilities
- Collaborate across departments including Government Relations, Public Affairs, and Operations
- Manage stakeholder issues and provide insight to senior leadership
- Provide clear, concise reports on stakeholder sentiment and market intelligence
- Minimum 5 years of experience in stakeholder relations, government relations, or public affairs, ideally in utility or energy sector
- In-depth understanding of municipal governance, industry regulations, and the utility landscape
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Confidence in representing organizational interests in diverse forums
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 20% within Alberta
