Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, such as frac units, nitrogen units and blenders, etc.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- Repair and replace damage or worn parts.
- Inspect machinery at time of start up to ensure correct pressures, fan speeds, and free of leaks.
- Dismantle and reassemble hydraulic equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Visual examination of all hydraulic systems on equipment.
- Read and understand operating manuals on oilfield equipment.
- Must have one (1) year experience as a Hydraulic Technician I to qualify for promotion to Hydraulic Technician II.
- Must work independently and as a member of a team.
- Able to read, speak and write English.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
- Employee is required to accomplish hard physical labor in many different conditions including lifting equipment.
- Must demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting. Heavy lifting is exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations and bright lights.
- Exposure to all climate types: hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
- Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
- Activities may involve being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
- Travel, overnight and multiple stay is a requirement.
- Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.
- Strong physical and mental health to maintain a demanding workload.
- Climbing – able to go up on oilfield equipment.
- Position will consistently dictate 40-60 hours per week with frequent overtime demands based on the workload requirements.
- Inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Assist with analyzing information to solve problems.
- Resolving conflict and other minor problems relative to hydraulic problems.
- Working with sounds or noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable.
- Working with some pollutants, gases, dust or odors.
- Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
