Position Title: Project Coordinator – Gas Utility Construction
Reports To: Vice President of Construction Location: Cypress, Texas FLSA Status: Exempt
The Project Coordinator supports the successful execution of natural gas utility construction projects by assisting leadership and engineering staff with scheduling, documentation, and interdepartmental coordination. This role focuses on organizing project data, managing workflows across departments, and ensuring timely communication between stakeholders. The Project Coordinator plays a key role in gathering, analyzing, and reporting project data to provide insights that facilitate smooth project delivery and informed decision-making.
- Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, schedules, reports, and correspondence.
- Track and update project data, including budgets, schedules, change orders, and status reports.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.
- Ensure project files and data flows are accurate, current, and accessible to team members.
- Facilitate the exchange of project information between engineering, construction, permitting, procurement, and finance teams.
- Monitor and follow up on pending approvals, submittals, and deliverables across departments.
- Assist in coordinating project communications with contractors, vendors, and utility partners.
- Support the Vice President of Construction and project managers with schedule updates, budget tracking, and reporting.
- Assist with preparation of regulatory filings, permit packages, and compliance documentation.
- Help coordinate logistics for field activities, inspections, and project meetings.
- Track and support resolution of project issues and conflicts.
- Generate regular project status reports for leadership review.
- Maintain dashboards, trackers, and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) to provide visibility into project progress.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams regarding project-related data and updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (required).
- MBA preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, or related role in the utility or construction industry preferred.- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management software (e.g., Monday.com, MS Project) a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to support interdepartmental and external coordination.
- Ability to analyze project data, identify variances, and assist in corrective action planning.
- Valid Texas driver’s license; occasional in-state travel may be required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
- Occasional standing, walking, and site visits on uneven terrain.
- Ability to wear required PPE when visiting active construction sites.
