The goal of the Metal Technologies, Inc. Internship & Co-Op Education Program is to provide students with assignments that allow them to make meaningful contributions to MTI, the ability to apply classroom theory to real world applications and be given the ability to demonstrate their capabilities and potential. MTI will also benefit from students sharing the latest state-of-the-art theory from their respective schools with managers and engineers.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of and reporting to Engineering, the Engineering Intern learns the basics of the foundry during the summer, and if desired can continue into additional terms during the school year as a co-op program. The Engineering Intern will be given various foundry related improvement projects, equipment implementations, cost reduction, as well as the opportunity to be involved with day-to-day activities of the Engineering Department.
Summer internships will begin May 2026, ending in August 2026.
This position will focus on manufacturing process system improvements and related projects such as (but not limited to):
- Work on continuous improvement projects throughout all departments
- Various 3D modeling projects
- Develop standardized processes / procedures / work instructions
- Data collection of production and quality information as required for trouble shooting
- Product handling and process flow improvements projects
- Programing within Excel to automate data entry and data collection

Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing)
- Must have completed the freshman year in the major program of study
- Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.75/4.0
Candidates nearing final consideration must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
