GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Management Associate to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As a Management Associate, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (C.O.O.) and will work closely with senior managers, the Strategic Planning Team and decision-makers throughout the organization. A strong commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values is an essential component of this role as well as an understanding of GVEC's philosophy of management and leadership.
The minimum starting pay for this role is $76,000/yr. plus bonuses that are tied to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience.
- Develop a broad understanding of the various operational areas managed within the organizational umbrella reporting to the C.O.O: Engineering, Operations, Safety and Loss Control/Compliance, Communications Technology, Key Accounts and Special Projects, Customer Service, and Internet services
- Communicate with executive administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from executive leadership across the organization
- Develop relationships between and among employees that promote the organization’s vision, mission, and values
- Create, develop and assist with special projects assigned by the C.O.O. branching across many different areas of the organization
- Assist with the strategic development of GVEC’s annual Business Plan by gathering information on benchmarks, focus areas, capital and expense budgets
- Position requires traveling to meetings and/or conferences within the state and occasional out-of-state travel
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering related discipline or five years of experience in the electric utility industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
- Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team
- Excellent problem-solving skills - able to effectively troubleshoot minor issues independently
- Must be organized and show attention to detail
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database software and PowerBi
- Show strong analytical skills
- Project management experience is a plus
