Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician

Position Description:

NTS is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our team. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Collect samples from various construction and mining sites.

- Perform detailed record keeping of site and sample information.

- Perform a wide range of field inspections and materials testing services on active construction sites, including soil density testing with a nuclear gauge, concrete sampling and testing, rebar and reinforcement inspections, and general construction observations.

- Enter and manage field data and reports in NTS project management and reporting systems.

- Follow all NTS safety rules and regulations and represent NTS professionally on client sites.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience preferred; motivated self-starters with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

- Demonstrated commitment to personal and worksite safety, with strong attention to detail.

- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions and lift 50 pounds regularly throughout the day for extended periods.

- Flexible availability to accommodate variable daily schedules, including occasional extended hours.

- Willingness to pursue additional certifications and training as required.

- Ability to use basic computer software, including Word and Excel, to complete reports.

Compensation & Schedule:

Position Type: Full-time, seasonal or permanent. Note: Permanent positions may be subject to a winter layoff period depending on project workload.

Compensation: Starting at $26 per hour, based on experience and education. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional evenings or weekends. Periodic overnights possible.
