Role Objective
We are seeking an experienced sales professional with hands-on background in HDD or core drilling operations. Ideal candidates have deep knowledge of drill pipe, rods, tooling, rig operations, and established relationships with drilling superintendents, rig managers, project managers, and procurement teams in utility, pipeline, mining, geotechnical, and environmental sectors.
This is a relationship-driven role focused on trust-building through site visits, technical consultations, and industry networking — not cold calling. You’ll partner closely with Sector Managers, Technical Estimators, and Commercial Analysts to deliver tailored solutions and a seamless client experience.
- Grow sales of HDD & core drilling pipe, rods, and tooling across your assigned territory in Canada and the USA (utility, energy/pipeline, mining, geotechnical sectors).
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with HDD/core drilling contractors, utility companies, EPCs, and end-users via in-person site visits, rig discussions, and regular technical communication.
- Attend client meetings, rig-site lunches, technical workshops, and industry events to strengthen partnerships.
- Travel regionally (moderate) for customer visits, product demonstrations, and trade shows (primarily within Canada and the USA, with occasional overnight stays).
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare accurate, technical proposals (rod specs, connections, grades, hardbanding, etc.) based on bore/project requirements.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and client feedback to guide strategy.
- 5–8 years in technical/industrial sales, preferably HDD drill pipe/rods, core drilling consumables, trenchless tooling, or related energy/infrastructure products.
- Strong technical understanding of HDD (drill string design, pullback, mud systems) and/or core drilling processes.
- Consultative, relationship-focused sales style with excellent communication skills.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple opportunities.
- Based in Alberta (preferred) or a major US energy/utility hub, with flexibility for moderate travel across Canada and the USA.
- Base Salary: $80,000–$1,25,000, depending on experience.
- Performance Bonus / Commission: Available based on results.
