Job Summary
The Sr Compliance Analyst supports and guides management in their assessment of compliance risks and requirements. The Sr Analyst collaborates with cross-functional business partners to ensure that they are adhering to relevant regulations, laws, policies, procedures, and/or internal controls.
Essential Functions
- Performs compliance functions and certain administrative duties under general supervision
- Supports policy and procedure review
- Participates in maintaining a compliance database in support of quarterly reporting
- Generates, analyzes and distributes various metrics and compliance reports including trends for executive reporting
- Provides guidance to cross-functional stakeholders with general Compliance questions
- Participates in supporting cross-functional business partners and compliance team in their evaluation of risks and controls within their business processes
- Proactively initiates actions that lead to increased strength and efficiency within the internal controls environment
- Lead audits on existing programs
- Participates in other reviews and special projects as needed
- Develop, lead & implement compliance training
- Provides facilitation and guidance to cross-functional business partners on evaluating changes to compliance risks and controls
- Works independently with limited direction, exercises judgment to respond autonomously to changes in the NiSource control environment (identify and recommending remediation plans for control deficiencies)
- Participates with management in Transformation type initiatives to identify new compliance risks and required controls to mitigate those risks
- Coordinates/Leads projects as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated ability to be objective and use exceptionally good judgment. High
- Knowledge of Ethics & Compliance best practices High
- Strong skill set & knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. High
- Prefer knowledge of Sarbanes - Oxley Act Medium
- Master's Degree Business Administration
- 4-6 years At least four years recent work experience in auditing, accounting, regulatory compliance or a related field
- 1-3 years Audit experience with a large publicly held corporation.
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) Willingness to obtain compliance certification with Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics
