The Install Manager plays a critical leadership role overseeing all aspects of residential solar installations within their assigned region or market. This position is responsible for managing field crews, maintaining schedule adherence, and ensuring every installation meets company quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards.
The ideal candidate has strong field experience in solar or electrical construction, understands the complexities of installation logistics, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The Install Manager bridges the gap between scheduling, procurement, and operations teams—ensuring installations are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Lead, train, and support installation crews and foremen to deliver high-quality residential solar installations
- Oversee daily installation schedules, ensuring job readiness and efficient deployment of field resources
- Partner closely with the Scheduling and Procurement teams to confirm crew assignments, equipment availability, and material readiness
- Monitor installation timelines and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts, site issues, or inspection delays
- Conduct quality and safety inspections at job sites; enforce company safety protocols and workmanship standards
- Coach and mentor installation team members, supporting career development and performance accountability
- Review system designs, plans, and one-lines to confirm field feasibility before installation
- Track project metrics such as cycle time, rework rates, and crew efficiency; implement improvements where needed
- Ensure all installations comply with NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements
- Communicate effectively across departments to keep projects on track and customers informed
- Support process standardization and operational scalability as new markets launch- 5+ years of experience in solar, electrical, or construction installation management
- Proven leadership experience overseeing multiple crews or regional install operations
- Strong understanding of residential solar installation processes, permitting, and inspection workflows
- Field experience required—must be comfortable supporting crews in-person at job sites
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency with scheduling, project tracking, or CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Procore, Smartsheet, or similar)
- Knowledge of NEC codes, AHJ inspection standards, and electrical best practices
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and build high-performing teams
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Comfortable working cross-functionally between field and office operations
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
