Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a growing oil & gas facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill one role as a full-time permanent role as a Structural Designer (12-18 month contract role).

Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management.

- Structural design of industrial buildings, including design of reinforced concrete and structural steel. Must be able to design in S3D.

- Must review and check engineer’s sketches and designs to ensure feasibility and compliance with client specifications, industry standards, applicable regulations and any other specifications, ensuring and verifying completeness of the drawing package.

- Must analyze designs for efficiency of construction, use of materials, structural integrity and practicality of design

Preferred Education, Experience And Skills

- Minimum Education: Design drafting or civil/structural-related degree or diploma is required

- Minimum of eight (8) years’ Western Canadian experience working with S3D

- Must understand the pertinent codes and standards

- Speed, accuracy and the ability to work long hours as necessary to complete the work is an absolute must-have character trait

- Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills

- Strong written, verbal, analytical and critical thinking skills

- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
