The Aviation Intern will support the planning, development, and execution of operational initiatives within the Flight Department, with a focus on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This internship offers hands-on experience in aviation operations, data analysis, regulatory compliance, and safety management. The Aviation Intern will receive mentorship from experienced aviation professionals and exposure to real-world utility aviation operations and technologies. Key developments for the intern will include:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of UAS operations and flight schedules
- May act as Remote Pilot in Command of select UAS missions
- Support data collection and reporting for operational performance, safety metrics, and compliance tracking
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and scheduling teams to ensure operational readiness.
- Contribute to the development of project execution schedules and crew briefings
- Provide administrative support for meetings and document preparation
- Engage in safety management system activities and risk assessments
This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence three days per week and remote work two days per week.
- Must be a rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Aviation, UAS Operations, or related field
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
- Prior experience with UAS-related projects
- Private Pilot License
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
