Summary As a Engineering Analyst at Oncor, you will provide data analytics, accounting, and technical support to the Distributed Generation (DG) Resource Integration Dept. ("DG Group") within the Oncor Asset Planning organization. The DG Group serves as the main point of contact for customers, installers, and energy resource developers submitting new DER projects ranging from; rooftop solar, battery energy storage, conventional generators, microgrids and other emerging DG technologies seeking interconnection and parallel operation with the Oncor distribution system. The Engineering Analyst Senior role supports the objectives of the organization additionally through the technical development and administration of eTRACK+ and related cross-functional business processes.
These processes integrate with internal departments and tracks DER projects throughout the full project life-cycle including initial application, service studies, invoicing and payments, interconnection agreement approval, meter orders and load profile updates, analytics and data management, and ERCOT and regulatory reporting needs.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
- Manage information and data for DER interconnections with the Oncor distribution system using Workflow Management Software for all phases of the full project life-cycle including initial application, service studies, invoicing and payments, interconnection agreement approval, meter orders and load profile updates, analytics and data management, and ERCOT and regulatory reporting needs.
- Analyze information in the DER project workflow to improve processes through the recommendation of enhancements and efficiencies.
- Provide active management of the Workflow Management Software system for DER project tracking, generator model data, updates and maintenance; develop and maintain the expertise necessary to draw on the Workflow Management Software databases for various planning and operations data analytics and reporting needs; support the environment for users with needs to access the DER records of the department and within the Workflow Management Software database.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of DER interconnection requirements, equipment and operating standards, and NERC, Texas RE, ERCOT, PUCT substantive rules, or other authorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for production of regulatory, accounting, management, and executive-level reporting, including priority reporting of DER information that could be required with minimal advance notice.
- Assume ownership of DER records contained in the Workflow Management Software database and organize and retain supporting files in a systematic and controlled structure to support document location and recovery.
- Administer ongoing updates to the DER website and the information presented, as well as enhancement of existing or new experience with SharePoint applications in improving the visibility of the organization.
