Unique opportunity for a seasoned financial professional. This is a 1099'd position that can be done remotely anywhere in the United States (preferably EST or CST zones).

- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting, including all month end processing for a steel manufacturing company based in Indiana. The on-site office manager completes all general input for payroll, AP and AR. There are 5 separate divisions to be tied out each month.

- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.

- Lead regulatory reporting efforts and ensure timely submission of all required filings.

- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure adherence to audit requirements for transparency and compliance.

- Collaborate with hands-on owner,

- Extensive knowledge of GAAP,

- Proficiency in accounting software and superior knowledge of excel.

- Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures.

- Ability to perform detailed account analysis with precision and clarity.

- Demonstrated expertise in accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing.

- Strong financial acumen combined with analytical thinking to interpret financial concepts accurately.

- Experienced critical thinker and problem solver.

- Some Human Resource knowledge a definite plus.
