For the new Critical Infrastructure Division of the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC), we seek an Engineering Specialist I proficient in performing moderately complex (journey-level) engineering work specializing in technical field weatherization and operator preparedness of Critical Infrastructure. Areas of operation for these positions will be in the Lubbock (West Texas) Region. Must live within 75 miles of Fort Stockton or be willing to relocate. Relocation is not paid for by the RRC. Work involves conducting site surveys, inspections, field work, data collection, validation, testing, and assessment. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position will require field travel up to 90%, with the remaining 10% administrative functions working from home or at regional offices.

Note: Salary will be determined based on education and experience.
Work Hours and Telework: Standard office hours for Commission employees are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our agency offers alternate schedules for employees, as long as it does not adversely affect operations and service levels, and standard hours of operation are maintained. Alternate work schedules may be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview process.
