We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with prevailing wage reporting requirements, multi state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance. The Payroll Administrator II will also be involved in maintaining employee records, generating reports, and assisting with any payroll-related inquiries.
o Ensure all employee compensation meets or exceeds the prevailing wage requirements on government contracts and projects.
o Generate and submit accurate prevailing wage reports for government projects in compliance with federal and state regulations.
o Prepare certified payroll reports (e.g., Form WH-347 for federal contracts) and submit to appropriate agencies.
o Coordinate with the payroll department to ensure accurate pay rates are applied for employees working on prevailing wage projects.
o Track and report any discrepancies in wage rates, benefits, and overtime on prevailing wage projects.
o Respond to requests for documentation or clarification regarding wage determinations, employee classifications, and payroll records.
o Maintain organized records of all relevant documents, including employee hours worked, wage rates, and project details.
o Processing of weekly/semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple states in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
o Ensure the accuracy of employee work hours, deductions, benefits, and tax calculations.
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
o Address employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
o Collaborate with HR to resolve payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
o Coordinate with the finance team to reconcile payroll discrepancies and handle adjustments.
o Assist in reconciliation of payroll tax reporting and respond to notices from tax agencies.
o Stay current on tax law updates and ensure changes are applied to payroll processes.
- Education:
- - Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- - 3+ years of experience in prevailing wage compliance, government contracting, or payroll administration.- Familiarity with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws (e.g., Davis-Bacon Act, state-level public works laws).
- Experience with tax compliance and payroll reporting requirements.
- Experience with certified payroll reporting and wage determination processes.
- Skills:
- - Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Rippling, Paylocity, Paycom) or other industry-specific tools) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience working in a government contracting environment, specifically in industries like construction, transportation, or public works.
- Experience with auditing and preparing reports for government compliance.
- Knowledge of union labor agreements and how they intersect with prevailing wage laws.
- Experience in handling payroll for a large or multi-state workforce.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and their integration with payroll platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- This is a full-time position with RNWBL LLC and will be eligible for our full-benefit package after the period explained in our company handbook.
