The aluminum Foundry workers are responsible for producing aluminum castings by operating furnaces, molds and related equipment in a foundry environment. The role involves melting, pouring aluminum castings according to production specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Melt and pour aluminum into molds using furnaces and ladles.
- Prepare molds and cores for casting operations.
- Inspect castings for defects and perform necessary finishing tasks (e.g., grinding, trimming, cleaning).
- Monitor temperatures, equipment, and materials to ensure consistent quality.
- Follow all safety protocols for handling molten metal and operating machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
- Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of casting processes
- Understand and follow technical procedures accurately
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a foundry or metalworking environment is an asset
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in high-heat temperatures.
- Reading calipers and micrometers is not a must but preferred.
