- Design and execute experiments from concept to completion to meet customer and project needs;
- Partner with customers (internal and external) to define testing objectives, deliverables, and key questions;
- Develop new techniques, perform literature reviews, and adapt testing conditions as needed;
- Validate new methods and protocols; assess equipment needs and recommend changes to management;
- Lead R&D projects that expand SPL’s Flow Assurance capabilities; present ideas with clear timelines and costs, and report findings with actionable recommendations;
- Stay current with industry trends through conferences, peer collaboration, and professional networking;
- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment; monitor tests, adjust parameters, and troubleshoot as required;
- Perform QA/QC reviews, interpret results, and provide recommendations that go beyond raw data—including “what-if” scenarios for deeper insights;
- Prepare professional reports and presentations; lead meetings to communicate results and guide customer decision-making;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What Makes You a Great Fit- Master’s Degree or higher in a Science discipline required; - Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience may be acceptable in lieu of a Master’s Degree;
- Hands-on experience with Flow Assurance Testing techniques and protocols;
- Strong foundation in Production Chemistry, including experience using analytical methods;
- Demonstrated success in Project Management within a laboratory environment;
- Practical knowledge of Operations Support, especially in energy and/or laboratory settings;
- Previous experience in oil and gas production projects, particularly in flow assurance and lab testing required;
- Comfortable working with and handling chemicals;
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and priorities to ensure on-time completion of work;
- Strong teamwork skills, with flexibility to support other projects as needed and help maintain a clean, well-functioning lab environment;
- Critical thinker with proven ability to develop solutions and deliver customer value;
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; proficiency with other data and word processing software;
- Ability to write professional technical reports and prepare effective presentations.
