Job Summary
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move
them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks
or storage facilities.
Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks or aircraft
Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
Checking loads are secure
Stacking empty pallets
Performing daily equipment checks along with lubrication of equipment
Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
Ensure housekeeping is maintained in area of responsibility as per Imerys Refractory
Minerals standards
Perform any additional duties as described by Production Supervisor
Skills and Attributes Requirements Must be able to effectively communicate both orally or written
Must be able to work all shifts as per schedule
Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
Will be required to wear all necessary PPE
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work
environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Maintain a clean & safe environment
Forklift certification per MSHA standards
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or GED. Technical education is preferred.
Environment While performing the duties of this job; the employee is regularly exposed to work near
moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions and
materials used in the process.
Frequent walking, standing, and sitting with exposure to all seasonal climatic conditions.
Occasionally lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
Approximately 100% plant environment.
Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn,
pivot, and stand for long periods of time
Having a good sense of balance
Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
