The Senior Terminal Manager Position has ultimate responsibility for operation and growth of the terminal. This position requires a strong commitment to plant safety, maintenance and operational excellence, focused on customer service, administrative reporting, car and plant inventory management, personnel safety and management, FRA and all regulatory compliance and training. The Senior Terminal Manager is responsible for proactively ensuring plant reliability, plant repairs and preventive maintenance. The terminal unloads pressurized propane rail cars to bulk storage tanks and loads 3rd party pressurized transportation equipment.
- Exhibit and maintain a high level of customer service.
- Planning and organizing the daily shifts, managing the team members and setting clear daily expectations.
- Monitoring the inventory levels in bulk storage tanks, on rail siding and servicing rail yard, and communicating daily movements needed to ensure performance at optimal level for peak production.
- Evaluating conditions & decision making of the day to day operations to ensure the facility operates at a safe steady pace and that down time is minimized.
- Product testing in cars and bulk tanks.
- Oversee general facility maintenance, including servicing equipment to keep it in proper operating condition, and ensuring the terminal grounds, yards, and buildings are maintained to company standards.
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Hiring and Training of team members.
- Review operational procedures, process hazard analyses, and compliance audits.
- Ensuring all team members are adhering to company policies and Health and Safety procedures.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions as outlined the Company and applicable regulatory agencies. Comply with all regulations, policies, work procedures, and company instructions, as well as requirements from applicable regulatory agencies. Ensure all rail terminal operations meet OSHA and EPA standards.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protect the assets of the Company, act with ethics and integrity and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Manage all hot work and safe work practices
- Partner with applicable departments in order to manage all incident investigations
- All Terminal employees are reporting to this role, including performance and annual reviews
- Other duties assigned
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Management, or other relevant degree is a plus.
- 7+ years NGL Industry related rail, logistic, and distribution experience.- Experienced NGL Rail Terminal Operator with management experience.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- CETP Rail and Hazmat trained and certified.
- Ability to prioritize and safely execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
- Knowledgeable of Track Mobile Rail Car Movers, front-end loaders, and other large diesel-powered machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; proficient with Microsoft Office (Email, Excel, Word)
- Availability to respond to after hour emergency or extraordinary circumstances to ensure plant safety and reliability.
- Not averse to being exposed to inclement weather, climbing, kneeling, crouching and lifting heavy objects.
- Position is subject to drug and alcohol testing.
- Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to the Company.
