A Shipping & Receiving professional is a customer centric member of the department who is capable of performing all tasks necessary to unload, check, weigh, record, and deliver incoming shipments and those tasks necessary to weigh, check, package, and load outgoing shipments.
Pay rate ranges from $23.01- $24.99 an hour
- Follow established procedures and SOP’s for receiving incoming shipments and for packaging and loading outgoing materials
- Verify contents, specifications, quantities, weights, etc., against Receiving/Shipping documents and for ensuring that containers/packages are properly labeled and identified
- Perform specified operator maintenance and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
- Construct necessary shipping containers, frequently to unusual size or configurations
- Inspect for damaged material and informs appropriate personnel before unloading/loading, delivery, etc
- Check incoming material for radioactivity with a Geiger Counter as required
- Maintain records and data to summarize and present reports
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience operating a forklift
- Ability to use the computer work stations at times
- Previous experience using a pallet jack and overhead crane preferred
- SAP knowledge preferred
- Supply chain knowledge with an emphasis on shipping & receiving preferred
- This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment
- This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs. and can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment
- Required to do data entry and operate a computer at times
- Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, grip or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch at times
- Ability to push/pull up to 130 pounds of force
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus when reading
- Ability to work in environments with hot temperature conditions
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment such as forklifts on occasion
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
