Expected salary range of $91,800 to $102,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
The Chemist 2 position is multifold. It involves managing chemistry programs, reviewing data, monitoring performance, communicating with other Clean Energy Center (CEC) departments, maintaining regulatory compliance, writing reports, managing special projects, training personnel, maintaining analytical and radio analytical instrumentation, maintain in-line instrumentation, maintain quality control and participation in the Emergency Preparedness (EP) and duty rotation.
- Manage Chemistry programs through the review and analysis of chemistry data, CEC walkdowns, participation in CEC troubleshooting plans, and implementation of new strategies/practices to improve performance.
- Communicate chemistry issues, performance, and needs with CEC management and other departments, obtaining assistance from supervisor or peers when necessary.
- Complete or provide input to Chemistry and CEC Performance Indicators.
- Provide direction and oversight of Chemistry vendors and contracts.
- Prepare and manage budget associated with assigned Chemistry programs.
- Support/Coordinate special projects as required.
- Participate in the training program such as preparing and or delivering lesson plans associated with chemistry.
- Participate in Emergency Response Organization and duty rotation. Subject to call out as required in support of CEC requirements.
- Provide input to corrective action program and CEC work management meetings.
- All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related physical science with 2 years of related experience (ex. Nuclear/Navy-operator, ELT, Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Chemist or Laboratory Lead/Chemist, Raw Water Treatment Chemists) OR
- Associate's degree in related physical science with 4 years of related experience OR
- Achieved Chemistry Technician qualification with 2 years of Nuclear Chemistry OR Qualified Navy ELT experience OR
- High school diploma or GED and 6 years of related experience OR
- Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
- Technical degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related physical science
- Prior nuclear power plant Chemistry experience
