Position Summary
Bridge Brothers is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Welder/Fabricator to join our production team in Greenville, SC. This hands-on role requires proficiency in various welding techniques, the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, and a commitment to producing high-quality steel components. You’ll be responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing structural steel and other materials in accordance with engineering drawings and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
•Perform MIG (GMAW), Flux-Core (FCAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding in all positions (1G–4G, 1F–4F)
•Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and specifications to produce accurate assemblies
•Select proper fillers and gases based on materials and project requirements
•Prepare components by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, or cutting steel/aluminum parts
•Inspect completed welds for structural soundness and accuracy
•Perform pre- and post-weld inspections and simple maintenance as required
•Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, torches, saws, and cutting tools
•De-bur and grind welds as necessary to meet surface finish requirements
•Package, label, and move finished products to proper locations
•Use and maintain precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, protractors, etc.)
•Operate forklifts or cranes safely (training provided if needed)
•Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times
•Monitor equipment and request maintenance or perform minor repairs as needed
•Work closely with other welders, supervisors, and project teams to meet deadlines
Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Must pass a 3G welding test
•2+ years of welding experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication
•Proficient in MIG, FCAW, TIG, and Stick welding
•Strong knowledge of welding symbols, blueprints, and fabrication practices
•Experience using various cutting methods including oxy-fuel and plasma
•Knowledge of construction and fabrication best practices
•Welding certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
•Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
•Familiarity with power tools and basic mechanical operations
•Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
•Commitment to quality, safety, and precision in all work performed
Role Details
•Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time
•Overtime: Available as needed
•Employment Type: Non-exempt, hourly
•Reports to: Production Supervisor
•Benefits: Eligible after 90 days (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and 9 paid holidays)
•Work Environment: Indoor fabrication facility with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and physically demanding tasks; PPE provided
