- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
- Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
- Advanced First Aid Responder.
- Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
- May require possession of Colorado State Parks’ boating safety certification within 6 months of hire.
An offer of employment may be contingent upon satisfactory results of a post-offer drug test and alcohol. Denver Water tests for the following: amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana (THC), opiates, and phencyclidine (PCP). A strength test may also be conducted due to the physical requirements of the position. If the position is deemed safety-sensitive or requires a CDL you will be placed on the random drug and alcohol testing list which means you may be tested if your name is selected while employed at Denver Water.

Under general supervision, coordinate recreational use of grounds, facilities, water surface , and provide land/water patrol, and public contact and education. Assist, monitor , and compile specific recreational use statistics, and assists with maintenance and project development and oversight.
- Assist with daily operations of facility, patrol, and inspection of premises.
- Write and prepare access agreements for any project within assigned areas and secure proper insurance.
- Develop and implement recreational patrol objectives , procedures, and schedules to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.
- Maintain liaison and coordinate Safety, Fire, and Enforcement programs with local law enforcement, and fire and rescue agencies.
- Provide ongoing condition assessment of recreational facilities. Provide annual capital maintenance budget requests. Provide assistance with project development and oversight.
- Assist with Educational program to inform visitors, the media, and the public about recreational management objectives including regulations.
- Collect and update recreational use data and assist in determining the effects of recreation on facilities/properties.
- Coordinate with Recreation Planning’s GIS and Environmental Planning sections to assure that the collected recreation information and data is incorporated into a common GIS database for analysis of recreation and environmental issues.
- Coordinate with the Environmental Planning section to help resolve any environmental issues that arise while managing recreation.
- May be required to produce an annual monitoring program summary report and make recommendations to alter facilities or management practices to correct situations where recreational use is impacting facilities and/or property.
- Perform related work as required .
