About ASARCO Grupo Mexico
ASARCO (American Smelting and Refining Company), the U.S.-based subsidiary of Grupo México, is an integrated copper mining, smelting, and refining company with approximately 1,400 employees. Grupo Mexico is a transnational mining company with operations in the U.S., México, Spain, and Peru.
We are creating accelerated-growth Development programs for Engineering undergraduates who are looking to develop a long-term career plan in ASARCO Grupo México. Our Development program is tailored for Mining, Mechanical & Metallurgical engineers who will be able to choose between two career paths: Operational Leadership and Technical Leadership.
About the role:
•Rotational program to gain diverse experience in Supervision, Technical, and Maintenance activities on site.
•Maintenance rotation - Will gain experience to supervise maintenance crews at the Pit, Concentrator, and SXEW facilities
•Planner rotation – Will gain experience to execute Maintenance planning activities at the Pit, Concentrator, and SXEW facilities
•Technical rotation - Will gain experience to lead their own engineering/construction project
•Utilization of CAD Software
•Collaboration with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources
•Other duties as assigned
Education & Skill Requirements:
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
•A desire to be a leader, always to do your best, focus on continual improvement, and ongoing career learning
•Must have excellent computer skills with the ability to learn technical software
•Familiarity with statistical process control, structural analysis, the strength of material, fluids, and pumps
•Excellent time management, attention to detail, teamwork, and setting ongoing goals
