Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Loader to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience with various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and cherry pickers. As a Loader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of products, contributing to the overall productivity of our distribution center.
- Load and unload products from trucks and containers using forklifts, cranes.
- Build pallets and organize products for efficient storage and transportation.
- Perform order picking to fulfill customer requests accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize loading processes and improve workflow.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- JOB ACTIVITIES
· Safe operation of tractor pulling flatbed trailer on company property especially backing up truck in order to move truck from department to department
· Formulate a workable loading plan which will allow the truck to be loaded considering the following variables:
· Accurately checks to ensure both proper material and proper quantities of material is sent to the truck by warehouse personnel. This is done through the proper use of:
o Verification of item descriptions on work copies
· Loaders must be able to climb up and down from tractors and onto and off of trailers
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds routinely
· Possess ability to frequently stand, bend, push, squat, and use pry bar in order to position material correctly on trailer.
· Demonstrates ability and accepts responsibility to perform other duties assigned by the foreman as necessary to complete the shift.
30% Bending, stooping, squatting: Unhook chains; guide and position material; count, check and measure material.
20% Sitting down to drive tractor trailer in warehouse and on company property.
10% Pushing / pulling material weighing 50 pounds.
2% Walking on flat surface.Follow safety protocols at all times to minimize risks in the warehouse environment.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for operating various types of equipment safely.
- Familiarity with loading/unloading procedures and order picking processes.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse machinery (certification may be required).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move heavy items throughout the shift.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
