Our Construction Safety Partner at Centrica Business Solutions ensures a safe working environment on construction sites by building trust and rapport with the installation team and subcontractors. They will implement and oversee safety programs, conduct inspections, and provide training. The training they provide will be a mix of reactive training to address gaps and deficiencies on the spot and make sure they leave a site safer than when they arrived, and proactive training to improve knowledge, skills, and awareness across the company. They are responsible for identifying hazards, refining safety protocols, and ensuring the team has the knowledge and resources to comply with local, state, and federal OSHA requirements. They also investigate incidents, develop corrective actions, and maintain safety documentation.
- Performing regular safety visits to construction sites, identifying positive safety practices as well as gaps and remaining hazards. They will coach and teach as primary methods to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, with work stoppages and other disciplinary actions as secondary methods.
- Delivering safety training programs to construction workers and management, including topics like hazard identification, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, emergency procedures, and new hire safety orientation
- Continuously update internal training modules to ensure relevance and compliance.
- Conducting thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, documenting findings, and developing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and staying updated on changes to safety regulations
- Identifying and assessing potential safety risks on construction sites and developing strategies to mitigate those risks
- Keeping accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and other safety-related documentation
- Working closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of the construction project
- Developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans and ensuring workers are trained on emergency procedures
- Fostering a positive safety culture among construction workers and subcontractors while promoting a proactive approach to safety
- Review and support approval of Site-Specific Safety Plans, Site Utilization Plans and other required specific safety documentation.
The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
- High School Diploma or equivalent – Required
- Certification through a program accredited by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or equivalent– Preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as a safety professional, preferably in the construction industry - 10+ years' experience in construction trades, preferably electrical- Strong knowledge of OSHA, NEC, and NFPA regulations.
- Expert knowledge and certifications in fall protection, aerial work lift operation, scaffolding, energy control/LOTO and general construction safety.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or technical field
- Knowledge of Mechanical and seismic codes
- Exposure to Also Energy, DAS, SolarEdge, and SMA equipment and components
- OSHA 30
- Journeyman or Master Trade license
- Experience with low and medium voltage electrical systems
The Construction Safety Partner is expected to be onsite routinely at Centrica Business Solutions Jobsites; travel will be a mix of local, regional, and national. 50%-70% of the time will be on jobsites.
